Acorn Recruitment Working with Rec To Rec Agencies

by Geoff 22. November 2009 00:38

This business was formed in a unique way and with unique values and therefore, we do not want to be sent the details of just anyone.

We look for experienced individuals with the proven ability to generate significant revenue whilst building lasting relationships from scratch.

Candidates need to have integrity and a proactive attitude.

We do not employ arrogant, pushy or easily defeated consultants.

If you can listen to our needs, send quality people and at the right price - feel free to get in-touch.

What happens if I ignore all the advice on this page?

If you do call us consistently and if you don't follow our guidelines, we'll have to blacklist your agency and we really don't want to resort to such heavy-handed Mafioso techniques if we can help it. We absolutely want to give priority to the best recruitment consultants and we want to devote our time to dealing with them only.

While we totally understand that you are only doing your job and that you want to help us, we ask that you respect the way in which we want to handle recruitment here at Acorn.

Current Vacancies

Acorn Recruitment is growing even faster than we could have hoped!

We are an award winning, ambitious independent recruitment agency. Led by enthusiastic Directors, who provide strong direction and support, without onerous micro-management or petty rules & regulations. We offer our staff a real sense of involvement and job satisfaction, as well as outstanding remuneration.

According to Companies House data we are one of the most profitable local recruitment agencies (many made a loss!); the only one to grow year-on-year; have just expanded to Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Kings Hill, Tonbridge, Crawley & maidstone; and testament to our success have recently had two teams from our competitors join Acorn.

You don't need to take our word for it - come and meet with us and we'll show you the impressive statistics.

Due to our success, we need talented, experienced recruitment professionals who can prove their ability to build meaningful relationships, providing the best recruitment solutions possible.

Unlike working for national agencies you

  • Will receive an excellent basic salary (guaranteed to be higher than your current package)
  • Will receive a generous bonus topping-up your salary to 25% of gross profit
  • Will work within a highly respected company, where employees are truly valued and encouraged to challenge themselves.
  • Will NOT be micro-managed - we only employee professionals that know how to manage themselves.
  • And in contrast to most independent agencies you will access to some of the best resources and tools to do your job effectively and efficiently.

Regrettably we do not have any vacancies at present, however please keep in touch.

We're a team of committed, ambitious, hardworking people who have an altruistic and realistic view of the world. We work hard, but we ensure that everyone shares in the resulting rewards, and we give people the opportunity to develop themselves and to be part of something they can be proud of. We want people of all ages, and from diverse cultural backgrounds, and, most importantly, we want people who inspire and deliver change around them.

Parking is cheap or free and the hours are such that you will be able to maintain a social life with your friends and family.

Travelling to Sevenoaks is simple by car and we’re a short walk from Sevenoaks station. There is also a good bus network if needed.

Progression

You tell us where you want to be and by what time and we’ll give you the resources to make it happen. Essentially, your development and success is only limited by your drive, determination and willingness to be part of an ethical recruitment business.

The Story of Acorn Recruitment

by Geoff 21. November 2009 21:25

Hello. We’re a recruitment company called Acorn Recruitment and we help fantastic people find new and exciting jobs. We set up the company 15 years ago, after we realised that our old jobs in recruitment were a bit boring and weren’t very good for us either.

In 1994 we began talking about properly starting a company, something that we’d always thought about but never really got round to. Naturally we had recruitment experience we thought continuing this theme sounded like a good idea. We wanted to get away from the high-pressure, targeted sales nature of recruitment and realised that it was highly unethical to barter away someone’s life motivated purely by a commission. So in August of 1994 we’d settled on the name of Acorn Recruitment. Our unique non-commission approach was revolutionary (and still is) and Acorn grew beyond our wildest expectations. Since we have quite literally helped tens of thousands of candidates find new and rewarding careers in and around the local area.

Nowadays we still work late, but we enjoy what we do a lot more. And we have grown – we’ve gone from having a living room to an amazing office and we help more people find more jobs than ever before.

And we’re all still friends, which is important.

Points About Pay

by Geoff 21. November 2009 21:11

There's virtually nothing more important to you (or us) than getting your timesheet on time…simply because we can't pay you promptly if we don't have details of the hours you have worked!

Deadline for timesheets: 9 am Monday at the very latest.

If you lose your timesheet you can download a copy here. Please note that it is a .pdf document and requires the plug-in Adobe Acrobat that is available for free at www.adobe.com.

We can't stress how crucial the Timesheet procedure is: We want you to be paid in full and on time, so please remember to double-check the details and hit that deadline!

POINTS ABOUT YOUR PAY

All Temporary Workers are paid a week in arrears, with your Tax and National Insurance deducted at the source.

Please ensure you have issued us with either a P45, P46 or P38 so we can administer the correct tax coding.

Payment will be made to your bank account on the subsequent Friday.

HOLIDAY PAY

As a Temporary Worker you are entitled to Holiday Pay. Your entitlement to payment for leave accrues in proportion to the amount of time worked.

Under the Working Time Regulations we can only issue Holiday Pay when you are not working. To receive holiday pay please write to us detailing the period annual leave will be taken.

TAX DOESN' T HAVE TO BE TAXING!

If you have a P45 that is less than 12 weeks old please send it to us immediately. If the P45 is older than 12 weeks please contact us and ask for a P46.

If you are a student you may be exempt from paying income tax. Therefore please call us and ask for a P38(S). Please note that you must be currently studying. If you are a year out student you are not eligible for tax relief and you must complete a P46 or send us a P45.

If you are working with another company contact us for a P46.

If you do not have a P45 and/or are not a student please complete ask for P46. When completing the P46 please complete all of Section 1. Then complete Section 2 under Employee Details from National Insurance Number to Male/Female. Please leave the other information blank from Works/payroll number onwards.

Failure to supply the correct tax information will result in deduction of basic rate tax. All original tax documents must be with Acorn Recruitment before your first payment is processed.

Further information: It is your legal obligation to keep all PAYE slips that are enclosed with your payment. We are unable to duplicate any pay slips.

At the end of each assignment, or when requested a P45 will be issued. It is your responsibility to keep this information safe as we are unable to duplicate any P45s.

At the end of each tax year we will issue a P60 to every temporary worker who is currently in a temporary assignment. We are unable to issue P60s to anyone who is not currently working for us and/or we have issued a P45. If you require information regarding earnings please refer to your PAYE slips, P45 or contact the Tax Office.

Please note that Acorn Recruitment cannot deal with any personal enquiries regarding your Tax, although you can contact the Tax Office on 01622 760 331. Our reference is 708/A934.
